All go on the North Cumbria life drawing scene. Papcastle started again today, with a good turn out and the ever reliable Wilf posing for the class. Perhaps because I didn’t think I was going to make it with proper school not starting until tomorrow, and perhaps the influence of a book on life drawing for animation, but I decided to go for a much more relaxed and squiggly style today. There’s probably an Italian word for the style, there usually is. But instead of trying to be precise with a Japanese brush pen, I squiggled with a pencil instead. I’m quite pleased with the results.
During break I got chatting with some of the artists from Keswick. Adult Ed classes there won’t be continuing, so people are thinking of setting up an artists’ group, hiring a hall and a model and cracking on themselves. I’ll update the blog as and when more details are finalised. Likewise with a proposed new class in Carlisle mentioned on the Cumbria Network; http://www.thecumbrianetwork.co.uk/life-drawing-carlisle-interested
One definite new class is in Harrington near Workington. It’s an artists’ group, so no tuition, and started last Saturday. The next one is on October 1st from 1-3 PM. The organiser, Sheila Fielder, also runs conventional drawing classes and has some very nice work on her website; http://www.sheilafielder.co.uk/
And finally, today’s work;
