About

Errrr..let’s see, I’m Scots-Cumbrian, born in Glasgow, but lived in Japan longer than I did in Scotland and in the North East longer than in Cumbria. I have half Japanese daughters, who I have looked after by myself for the past nine years or so…so I suppose my nationality is a bit difficult to pinpoint. What I do for a living isn’t much easier; I teach Japanese sometimes, and I design tattoos and occasionally I model for art classes, which started as a personal dare, but now I can’t get out of it. I also teach life classes and draw comics and go into schools to teach that too. And, of course, being a single parent is also kind of a full time job.

Very much enjoyed looking at your website. Indeed I am too far for your local class to model but perhaps if you have a one-day workshop. I enjoy challenging/distortion/tension poses and indeed something that is always different..ideally draw what you see…which I know is a prevalent term in the world of ‘art’. I like dynamism and the challenge from quick to very very long sustained. Look forward to hearing from you, Jane Flux (modelgirlme@yahoo.co.uk)

Cheers Jane. It is maybe a bit far, but let me know if you’re ever up here. I don’t do much organising as such, but I can put you in touch with the people who do;)

I’m interested in becoming a life model and am intrigued as to where you started although am aware that it was on a dare basis it is difficult to find any info.

As a mother of 2 my body is less than perfect and I have spent many years fighting it but being only in my early thirties I think it’s time to embrace what’s been given and the toll that motherhood has changed it.

I’ve a keen interest in art although of a more hobbyist point of view but again as life only moves forward it’s something that I’d like to maybe give myself a little back.

Thanks for your time and I hope for a response.

      Hi Sam,

I started at the local class at Papcastle near Cockermouth. I’d been going as an artist for a few years and just thought, “why not?”. If you’re based in Cumbria, I can pass your name on to the different classes, who are always looking for new bodies to draw,

      cheers,

      Gav
